SDR Capabilities
We do virtually everything under one roof in our 10,000 sq. ft. facility with all our own machinery including CNC High Definition Plasma cutter, CNC Router Tables, CHC Mills, Lathes, brake presses, etc. This leads to rapid prototyping. The same engineer that designs your custom robot will see it all the way through including fabrication, assembly, testing, etc.

How to Build a Robot
Building your robot is a fun and exciting experience. Sometimes though, it can be a little frustrating when you are not sure about a certain aspect of the build. This is a step by step guide to getting your robot up and running. We will go over some robot basics, help you with your part selection, and give you some assembly advice.
- How to Build a Robot
- Robot Speed Calculator
- Motor and Wheel Mounting Methods
- An instructional video on how to splice tracks
- How to Build a Simple 2WD Robot
- How to Build a Standard IG32 RC 4WD Robot - Videos
- How to Build a Compact 4WD ATR with 32mm Motors
- How to Build a Heavy Duty 4WD ATR with Chain Drive
- How to Build an Inspection Robot
Programming and Autonomous Robots
What good is a robot without any brains? Here are links to our support pages and product categories related to microcontroller programming.
- Available Autonomous Robots
- Autonomous Robots Hub
- Custom Autonomous Robots
- Types of Autonomous Robots
- How to Order an Autonomous Robots
- Vision Based Robotics
- Autonomous WiFi Robot
- Electronic Control Units
- Sensor Support
Wheeled Robots
These robots are for serious robot enthusiasts. These robots can house a variety of wheels, motors, and frames. The different wheels will allow All Terrain travel. The motors can be regular size or super-sized for climbing over rocks. Most of the frames are heavy-duty laser-cut aluminum with predefined holes for OOPics, speed controllers, cameras, sensors, etc.
- ATR Wheeled Robot Overview
- DM (Direct Mount) Compact ATR Support
- SB (Single Bearing) ATR Support
- DB (Dual Bearing) Heavy Duty ATR Support
- Vectoring Robot Support
- Conventional Steering ATR Support
Treaded Robots
Treaded robots are much more likely to navigate obstacles especially where climbing is involved as the tread helps to hold the robot up while spanning gaps.
Electrical and Schematics
Motor Controllers take signals from a microprocessor or radio control receiver and convert it into a high current varying voltage.
- Electric Motor Hookup Support
- Electric Power Hookup Support
- Schematics
- Soldering Tips
- Crimping Wires
Servos, Motors, and Motor Controllers
Many robots can be driven by modified servos. To drive larger robots you need gear motors. Gearmotors can not be driven directly from a microcontroller like servos can, so you need motor speed controllers.
- RC and Servo Support
- Torque and Conversion Support
- Motor Controller Support
- Stepper Motor Controller Support
- Encoder Support
- Motor Wiring Support
- Modified Servo Support
- Robotis Dynamixel Servos
Wireless Systems
We carry systems to make your robot wireless. We have our own RF serial link, the Devantech RF Link, and a variety of RC controllers.
- Wireless Serial Support
- Network and WiFi Support
- Radio Control Support
- Tactical Robot Controller Support Page
Sensors
Sensors let the brains of the robot know what's going on in the outside world. Listed below are support pages for many of the sensors we carry.
